Licence

Galaxy Control Panel
Copyright (c) 2026 Galaxy Inc. All rights reserved.

This is the licence for the software itself. The terms of sale - prices,
refunds, support and the rest - are in TERMS.md.

Galaxy Control Panel is source-available, not open source. You can read every
line of it, because it is Python and it runs on your own PC. That does not make
it free to copy or resell. What you may and may not do with it is below.

1. WHAT THE WORDS MEAN

"The software" - Galaxy Control Panel: the panel, the bot, the tray
application, the phone server, the installer and everything in the download.

"Galaxy Inc", "we", "us" - the publisher.

"You" - the person who installed the software, or the organisation they
  installed it for.

"Free" - the software without a licence key, or after a key has ended.

"Computer" - one installation, counted by a random number it makes for
itself. Pro Personal covers 5; Pro Team covers whatever one community,
    household or company needs.

"Trial" - a 30-day Pro key. It costs nothing, but it is asked for in
the Galaxy Inc Discord server rather than handed out with an account.

"Pro" - the software with a valid licence key. Keys come in two kinds:

Personal - for one named person, on any number of computers that person
    owns or controls.

Team - for one community, household or company, for the people in it and
the computers they use for it.

2. WHAT YOU MAY DO

  - Install and run the software on computers you own or control, within the
limits of your plan: Free runs one bot at a time; a trial key and Pro run
    as many as you like.
  - Use it for anything legal, including making money with it. Running a bot
for a paying community is fine.
  - Change your own copy for your own use, and keep backups of it.
  - Keep your settings, tokens, database and playlists. They are yours, and
nothing here claims any right over them or over the bots you run.

3. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO

  - Copy, publish, sell, rent, sub-licence or otherwise pass the software on to
anybody else, in whole or in part, changed or unchanged.
  - Share, publish or resell a licence key. A key that turns up in public stops
working, and we may refuse to replace it.
  - Use one Personal key for other people. Buy a Team key for a team.
  - Change the software to get around the licence checks, or to remove or hide
the Galaxy Inc attribution described in NOTICE.
  - Present the software as your own work, or as somebody else's.

Anything not granted in section 2 needs our permission in writing.

4. WHAT A LICENCE CAN AND CANNOT DO

This is said plainly because pretending otherwise would be dishonest. The
software is Python source. Anybody holding a copy can read it, and could edit
their own copy to switch the licence checks off. No licence text prevents
that, and compiling it would not either - it would only be a slower version of
  the same thing.

So the checks in the software are not a lock. They are a reminder, and this
file is the part that actually says what is allowed. The attribution check in
bot/branding.py works the same way: it reports when the mark has gone; it does
  not stop anybody removing it.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND CONTENT

The software talks to services that are not ours when you tell it to: Discord,
whichever AI provider you give a key to, the R6 Arenyze API, Genius, YouTube
through yt-dlp and ffmpeg, GitHub for updates, and Tailscale for the phone
page. Their terms are between you and them, as are their costs.

You are responsible for what your bot does and for what it plays or posts,
including anybody else's copyright. The software never posts lyrics text, and
links to them instead, for that reason.

6. UPDATES

The updater fetches releases and installs them over your copy. It never
touches your token, database, settings or playlists, and it keeps every file
it replaces so an update can be undone. Installing an update does not widen
this licence. We do not promise any particular update, or any at all.

7. IF YOU BREAK THIS LICENCE

This licence ends if you break it. You may end it at any time by removing the
software. A refund, where TERMS.md gives you one, also ends it.

8. NO WARRANTY

The software is provided "as is", with no warranty of any kind, express or
implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and
  non-infringement.

9. LIABILITY

To the extent the law allows, Galaxy Inc is not liable for any claim, damage,
lost data, lost Discord account, or other loss arising from the software or
its use. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us
  for the software.

It runs Discord bots on a PC in your house. Do not run it on anything that
  cannot be lost.

10. LAW

This licence is governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts
handle any dispute about it. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does
not remove protections you have where you live.
